  • Overview

    The Accounting Supervisor is a visible supervisory role within the Finance Department and the organization, and reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting.  Managing a team of 2 direct reports, this position is responsible for general accounting and internal financial reporting.  Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial results and annual audit.  Proactively identify and lead implementation of process changes within the department.

    Responsibilities

    •  Review, maintain and enforce appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting consistent with GAAP
    •  Supervise, train and develop corporate accounting staff
    •  Ensure a timely and accurate close process for month and year-end reporting
    •  Ensure that the year-end audit is completed timely, accurately, and free from adjustments
    •  Review financial statements and all account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
    •  Provide actionable information that favorably impacts the company’s bottom line
    •  Support and/or lead the execution of special projects that arise throughout the year
    •  Perform other duties as assigned by manager

    Qualifications

    •  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
    •  MBA and/or CPA
    •  Relevant business experience of 4 - 6 years
    •  Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.  SAP Experience a plus.
    •  Proven leadership experience with managing others
    •  Strong background in Cost Accounting
    •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    •  Ability to interface with multiple departments throughout the organization, in addition to outside service providers
    •  Strong work ethic
    •  Take ownership of tasks and demonstrate personal accountability
    •  High degree of adaptability and team player
    •  Proactive/continuous improvement focus
    •  Ability to drive and implement change
    •  Analytical and detail oriented thinking
