  • Overview

    The SAP Application Services Manager is responsible for delivery of SAP solutions and related third party applications interacting within SAP. This position manages a team of highly effective functional analysts and developers to provide daily operational support as well as solution implementation for enhancements and projects. This position is “hands on” with approximately 70% functional and 30% management of the team.


    • Lead, motivate, and provide continuing forward direction for the SAP staff
    • Plan and Manage Information Services-related projects as assigned and ensuring proper System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and best practices are met regarding tasks and projects from all areas
    • Working with the business community to understand needs and prioritization of SAP demands
    • Providing technical leadership and management to establish best practices for delivery of high quality, scalable solutions for functional development team
    • Manage day-to-day SAP team and escalations from the business community
    • Perform development activities or configuration adjustments to modules deployed
    •    Assist and advise the company in making effective business decisions relative to application development
    Key Performance Measures
    • Availability and reliability of critical systems
    • Delivering projects on time and high quality


    • 5+ years of leadership experience supporting SAP applications
    • 5+ years of hands on development or configuration experience supporting two or more of the following SAP modules:
      • SD, MM, PP, IM, WM, FI, CO, PI/XI
    • Prior leadership experience and proven examples of enabling individuals to teamwork and a collaborative environment meeting the business community needs
    • Ability to scheduling, resource allocation and budgetary oversight
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, direct and manage staff, consultants (as needed) based on business and budget requirements
    • Ability to comprehend complex business problems and understand their interrelationships with systems in order to design and develop appropriate effective, scalable solutions
    • Possess excellent communications and managerial skills within and across department
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities
    • Understanding of impact of decisions & actions on process and financial results



    • Expert Level of MM/PP/SD Modules
    • Large SAP Project Experience with direct involvement in functional modules (Upgrade experience, new implementations, etc.)
    • PMP/PMI Certification
    • SQL Server working knowledge (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS)


    • College degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
